ESSENTIAL DRIVER TRAINING (EDT) MANUAL OR AUTOMATIC

You cannot get a driving test unless you have completed your Essential Driver Training .

When you begin your EDT you will be given a logbook that you should keep ( not your instructor) You can change instructors at any time if you are unhappy.

As of April 4th 2011 any first time Learner permit holder must undertake as a process of learning to drive, 12 hours of lessons provided by a Approved Driving Instructor ( ADI ) .

The lessons themselves have outcomes that are suggested that a candidate should complete .

The EDT system also tries to utilise a Sponsor .

Sponsor being defined as someone who has a full driving licence for 2 years or more and is calm and can help the candidate progress under the guidance of their Approved Driving Instructor.

At Betterdrive we can work hand in hand with candidate and sponsor to help achieve all the goals laid out within the Essential Driver Training syllabus.

We can also complete the syllabus in a week if required. ( subject to availability )

Should you not have a sponsor that is also no problem as if required we can assist as sponsor should it be required.

Its best to consider having driven whether with an ADI or a parent and having practiced basic car controls before beginning Essential Driver Training .
